DESCRIPTION

The Pietro Orpheus Black hand-chopped and waterjet mosaic is from the San Marco Collection by New Ravenna for Decorative Materials. This collection, designed by Jacquelyn Bizzotto, pays homage to the enchantment of Venice, drawing inspiration from the characteristics of the Lagoon city.

Using hand chopped and tumbled marble tesserae, Pietro is the most textured mosaic of the San Marco collection. Created in the Roman opus tessellatum style, its hand-hewn surface preserving the cultural memory of centuries. The interplay between the waterjet triangle amongst the checkered border creates geometry and texture. Shown in hand-chopped tumbled Calacatta Monet, Orpheus Black, and polished Calacatta Monet.
