DESCRIPTION

Byrd Dahlia is from the Femme & Function Collection by New Ravenna for Decorative Materials. This mosaic is named after Jane Byrd McCall, who, along with her husband, founded Byrdcliffe, an Arts and Crafts Artist colony in Woodstock. The design is a waterjet pattern of a whimsical stylized aviary. It is meant to call to mind the intricate figural painted pottery of the time.
